Giulio Donati (born 5 February 1990) is an Italian footballer who plays as a defender for Serie B club Padova, on loan from Internazionale.
Born in Pietrasanta, the Province of Lucca, Donati started his career at hometown club Lucchese. In July 2008, he was signed by Internazionale and played for its Primavera team (U-20 youth team).
At the start of 2009–10 season, Donati was called-up to first team for a number of friendlies.[1][2][3] On 16 December 2009, he made his debut against Livorno at Coppa Italia. With both teams resting numbers of regular starters, the match ended in an 1–0 win.[4] He subsequently also received call ups to the next two competitive matches (vs Lazio, and Chievo) and started a mid-season friendly.[5]
On 25 June 2010, he was loaned to newly promoted Serie A team Lecce with option to sign him in co-ownership deal.[6] On 25 August he made his Serie B debut with Padova in the away draw against Sampdoria.
On 12 February 2010, Donati called up by coach Pierluigi Casiraghi from Italy U21 team for a training camp,[7] however he was not selected to the final squad for the upcoming qualifying match.[8] On 17 November 2010 he made his debut with the Italy U-21 team in a friendly match against Turkey.
